Heavenly father is really good

January 9, 2012
Well I sent this a little too early, meaning I copied Presdient letter and meant to take out and add a few things before I sent it. Whoops... That's embarrasing. :)

The title of this week is, "God's more powerful and more loving than I give him credit for." I think this week, more than ever before on my mission, was full of tender mercies. One  morning I was a baby. I told heavenly father that I wasn't sure I could do this anymore from a build up of the last 6 weeks.I was so overwhelmed and anxious and told him that if he wanted me to make it through this week I really needed him to pretty much carry me. And so he did. I am just telling you this so you can understand what miracles and mercies happened to me this week.

An hour after that prayer two people called: one was someone I had been trying to arrange and coordinate with for a long time to have them come teach with us. She called, said they had the rides figured out and would meet us there at 3. Wow. Then came the second call: a man in our ward who said 'I have the day off of work today, so if you want me to come teach with you I can." I just want to cry writing about this I'm so grateful to heavenly father haha. I am in awe that he showed me 'If you can't take care of this right now, I can.' It was one of the little things that I had had a lot of anxiety about. The interesting thing is that both appointments fell through because one investigator dropped us {Ron and Jessica} and the other forgot, however He knew I needed relief in the  morning so I could make it through the day. It was amazing.

And I feel like the whole week was filled with miracles like that.
- We taught a woman who has been taught for a long time but was not progressing, and it was a very important lesson.
-Sister Park is perfect for our investigators and less actives and they love her. And I love her. We can always laugh together and be goofy. She is getting more confident with her english and taught so wonderfully this week.
-A text from a family who has off and on been investigating for 6 years to tell us they had prayed to find their hamster and they found it :)
- A very random note from a ward member saying thank you
- Stopping by the smith farm after hours before site meeting and getting to take someone on a short tour who came a long way and missed his only chance to see it, and seeing how much he needed it.
- Having my wallet that was lost, turned in by a random person to the police department. They were  able to find out my number through my library card here that I only recently got and that the only thing missing from the wallet was my cash and quarters. I was so grateful that my credit cards, insurance card and drivers liscense was still there.
- Having the weather turn from 8 degrees to 50 beautiful sunny degrees and get to talk to all the people who came outside to enjoy it.
- Finding a new investigator in an obscure apartment that we only found through a referral of a man we talked to on the street. Then finding two other families that said we could come back in the same apartment.
- Following a thought to visit a very less active woman who we hadn't been able to see for about 6 weeks last night. When we got there there was a police car outside, and awesome sister Park was the one who really thought we should knock anyway. I'm so grateful we did, because her 16 year old daughter had just run away with her boyfriend, and she really needed someone there. We were able to talk to her, call someone from the ward to counsel with her and give her a blessing. When we came in the police officer said, 'who are these people?' and she defended us and said, 'They are sisters from my church. They are family.' and then later she said, 'If I called any of my real family, no one would come." It was one of the few times on my mission I could clearly say that we had been on the lord's errand for this hurting woman.
- Your call at a time when I was again doubting if I could do this.
- Locking my keys in the house {whoops...} and being able to catch the Nielson's before they left the farm so we could sit in the church and study until someone came home vs. sitting outside and freezing to death :)

So to sum that lengthy letter up, this week was miraculous. Wow.
Thank you for letting me know you were still alive :) Hope things around the country are good!
love,
Sister L
