the phone was lost but now is found

I knew I was aging on my mission, but I guess I didn't realize how much I was aging. Yesterday I was mistaken for the wife of a 71 year old man...
Here is the story. I was taking a tour group of 25 Sr. citizens on tour and Elder Williams - one of the Senior couple Elders - had to drive a few people from the log home to frame home in the golf cart because they couldn't walk well. So he came in in the middle of my tour so he would know when they needed him to drive to the next spot. I had half the group stay downstairs with him while I took the other half upstairs so they could see it, and so each group would have someone to answer questions. Upstairs, a man came over to me and asked where my husband was from. I told him I wasn't married, because I was a missionary. He looked so confused and said 'yes you are! Isn't that your husband downstairs?" I tried not to look as disgusted as I felt. After the tour I told the Williams about it. They thought is was SOOO funny. Every time sister Williams looked at Him she would laugh. Unfortunately, Elder Williams teases more than other senior couple. so the rest of the shift he kept making weird comments like, 'Can you hand me that key, sweetie' or talking to Sister Williams about how he needed to go register us at Target. I think this will be the favorite story of Sr. Couples for a long time... I was scarred by it the rest of the day. Will you still love me even though I have aged 50 years on my mission?

But other than that, there were some incredible moments this week!!! wow, it was such a great week! We had funny miracles. The first was the miracle of the GPS. We got very lost a few weeks ago and it was hurting us on miles, so one night I saw in the drawer the GPS that had been given to use by Michelle and Paul 9 months ago that died while still in Pittsford. I had tried it a few times since then and it would never even turn on. This time I thought I should try it one more time and then get rid of it if it didn't do anything. We put it in our car, both prayed and I just knew it was somehow going to work. Sure enough, It turned on and has worked since. That night it helped us find a man we had been looking for a few days!

We had a great lesson with Doug this week, and we committed him again to come to church because he has promised and hasn't shown for the past 7 weeks. Saturday night we got a call from Doug saying he couldn't come to church because...
He lost his home phone.
It was the strangest excuse I'd ever been given for not coming. Wish I could describe the whole conversation, because it was hilarious, but it ended up that we prayed with him on the phone and told him to stop the activity he was doing and search for his phone and promised if he searched for it, he would find it. Right before we went into another appointment, he called and said he had found it sitting on the desk next to him sitting in between his Book of  Mormon and bible. And the best part is HE CAME TO CHURCH! miracle.

That night we also found the most wonderful investigator. his name is Karl. He is 75. We love him! We are excited to see him again this week! He has already read 7  chapters in the Book of Mormon.

And one last great thing about this week. We found the perfect service project. We are both a little obsessed with it. I think I mentioned it last week about the adult special needs arts school. We got to help out in the dance class this week. It was wonderful! I love them! Before class started the teacher had us introduce ourselves and then came the questions like,
"Are you nuns?"
"Are you sisters?"
"What are you?"
"What church is that for?"
"Can you get married?"
"Can I be a missionary?"
"What does a guy missionary wear? Would I have to wear a skirt?"
We talked about pageant a little bit and they all wanted a flyer. A few of them raised their hand and told the teacher they wanted to be a Mormon and the teacher said, 'well I'm sure they can help you out with that." haha they were so cute. A girl gave me a picture she drew in art class and said "Sister Loveit, every time you look at this picture it is full of my love and friendship forever." So we loved that experience.

Sorry this is so long. Things are great! I love Sister Larsen. She is so nice to me, and we can teach together well. I love this work and our ward and our people. I hope you are all happy! Pageant starts in two weeks, which means we won't really have a preparation day regularly, so I'll let you know about the schedule next week. Thank you for the package! I love you all,
  Sister Lovell
