Q: write about the proudest moment of you're life.
After thinking about this prompt for several minutes, I am having a midlife crisis at age 20 because I can't think of the proudest moment of my life! What have I been doing my whole life? But after my initial panic I then remembered what a great life I have had, so I have instead decided to write about my top 3 happiest moments.
1. My brother and sister were both married on the same day so they had a big double wedding. The reception was in our yard, which by the way is very large, so we had spent all summer taking care of it. You should know that I hate laying bark more than any other job and we certainly laid a lot of bark that summer. Even after all that bark laying, August 10, the day they got married, made it all worth it. I had never felt so happy before. I thought my sister-in-law and my brother-in-law were such great people, and all my family was there. The yard looked great, the atmosphere was fun and of course the food was delicious. It was simply a great day.
2. Being in love. Not exactly a moment, but it's just a happy time in my life. Even though hard days still come when you're in love, there was something great about having someone to share them with. It is also a great time when you have someone you can care for. There is a wonderful feeling that comes with taking care of someone and thinking of the things you can do for them to let them have a better day. This can actually apply to anyone you love and is probably why parents love their children so much: they are always taking care of them and helping them have happier days. But I look back on this time with great fondness!
3. Summer. Summer isn't even my favorite season, but I can think of more moments during this season where I have gone to bed feeling completely happy than any other season. It always involves visiting family, warm summer nights, taking walks, eating watermelon and talking. This usually involved my Dad telling interesting stories which made all other conversation stop and turn to his talking. I loved the feeling of getting into my sheets in shorts and feeling the smoothness while remembering the great day I had with my family.
