Sister McKenna and I are emailing at the hill Cumorah visitor center today because we went to the temple earlier - what a tiny lovely temple! Sister McKenna and I discussed how missions are so interesting because you will probably never be treated so rudely in your life and you will also probably never be treated so sweetly. Random people just want to help the missionaries, or they are so excited to see us. And by random people I mean generally those who are LDS. It's nice. These little girls outside the temple ran up to us and told us they wanted to be missionaries someday. Cute.

2. The Hill Cumorah visitor center {which is the shortest tour and just shows what's available in the area
and the Christus room along with the Joseph Smith movie and a kiosk room people can wander through}
3. The Book of Mormon Printing Shop {E.B. Grandin}

4. Peter Whitmer Farm {where the church was organized, the three witnesses saw the plates and 1 Ne - Words of Mormon was translated along with 20 sections of Doctrine and Covenants} So those are the sites. We rotate everyday, and it just depends if we do all of them each week. The Whitmer farm is an hour away from where I live so we don't get assigned there often although we were there for two days this week. We get our assignments for pageant after transfers which are on Sunday -oh the pageant is next week and I'm so excited!!!! We won't lead tours during that time - just pick random people to talk to because there will be so many. The sites are great. And the Senior couples are hilarious and somewhat crazy.
We live right by the mission office, so sometimes they forward the letters to us or else we just go pick them up in this area.
ATTENTION: ahem. if you have ideas for free family activities or inexpensive ones, can you email them to me please? And if you have pictures of your family doing them include those too! as part of my proselyting blog I might start doing that as a little excerpt. Thank you. You will be blessed. And by that I mean you will get a great big hug after my mission.
Highlights of this week:
- We taught a woman named Karen who Sister McKenna had taught before I came. She and her son are catholic and such sweet people. We talked about the Plan of Salvation and the importance of baptism with authority. It's great, yes? We hope she will discover that for herself as well.
- Sister McKenna and I spoke in sacrament meeting at an Elder's homecoming on Sunday. It was fun.
- It wasn't a very teaching week - we have been really busy with the sites and getting ready for pageant. I don't even know where the time went. Out the window apparently. We did have a really fun dinner with the Senior sisters, elder & sister McVea {Elder McVea is the human form of Mater from cars. Seriously.} the assistants and zone/district leaders. Everyone told their embarrassing stories and Elder McVea did his chicken dance which is maybe the funniest thing I have ever seen.
And that was pretty much my week! It was fun. It is almost July. Hopefully next week I will have tales of teaching to tell. {what a good sentence!}
love you all!

PS. Oh, and tell Sydney she should write me, because right now I am pretty much assuming she is...lost.
I have a few more minutes, so here is my picture essay on NY
I stepped on this little guy when I got out of the car.
2. Another kind of animal - Pet boutiques everywhere. It is an unhealthy kind of love I think.
3. When we need to unwind from the day, we dance. My roommates are so fun.
4. Missionaries have to back their companion. This is how the rumor that Mormon's can't ride in backing up cars got started.
6. A giant delicious calzone from Nima's that could feed 5 people.
