Guess what! I have a new companion! Since the threesome that I was in last week were all training, we guessed who would be our companions and I got the sister that I guessed last - Sister Park from South Korea.
I want to start off by saying... Sister Park is the cutest thing I've ever seen. yea! I love having her! The first few days she was so quiet and I was worried about how homesick she must be with this culture shock, but now she has opened up and we can tease each other. She told me last night that I look like the creepy doll Chucky and also, when I showed her that I decided not to shave my legs for a month 'you are man!'... nice. Haha, love her. We have a great time with the limited language that we can speak to each other.
Her testimony is amazing, and she is exactly what our investigators need. She joined the church when she was 13 but was inactive for 6 years and has now been active for two. Her mom was also baptized 4 months ago! And she is especially what our less actives need, because she can share her testimony about coming out of inactivity by reading the Book of Mormon.
This week we spent almost all of our time trying to find, and I know she was a little disappointed at how much rejection we get. But she is determined we are going to baptize, and we will. I think she is not homesick, except she really misses Korean food. Anyone know how to make kimchi?
On other news of this week. We tracted. And tracted. And tracted. We didn't really have other options. We did get to teach one lesson to Jessica and Ron - The word of wisdom, which went really well, especially having a couple from our ward with us who had to give up smoking and drinking to be baptized. They could give powerful testimony and spirit was great. Jessica also got an anti book this week that really confused her. We have moved their baptismal date back a few weeks and so now will be working towards that goal.
Hm... I think that is about it. oh! Sister parks first lesson was with a less active family with a really huge dog. And he put his paws on her lap and spent 30 seconds licking her face while she squealed and I tried to pull him off her. Then he did it again. I couldn't stop laughing. I laughed so hard I couldn't sit up. And sister park just said, "woah! I got kiss!" haha poor thing.
So that was our week! Happy 2012! I love you all!
love,
Sister L
