Q: Have you felt discouraged at any time this semester?
Having Spanish class four days a week and then tests on the one day you don't have it would be fine if I actually understood the language. As it is, Spanish has eluded me in past semesters and hasn't changed since. Currently I have a C+ in the class and just succeeded in getting a D on the midterm. Impressive, I know.
The thing that frustrates me most is that I am retaking this class. I took it a year ago and now it's just as foreign to me as before even though I studied then and I study now. My dad met my teacher the other day and she knew I was in her class (There are eight people in that class...) and when he asked if I was struggling in it she said I was doing just fine! In fact, yesterday when i went to talk to her about my D midterm she said I shouldn't be worried. Which is, well confusing, and also makes me wonder at what point teachers decide to make their class easier if 'just fine' means I have a D on the midterm? Hm, how strange.
However, as frustrated as I am, I really like my teacher. She is so cute because she always does actions with whatever she is saying. She also only speaks in Spanish, which is not something my other teacher did and although I don't understand it I do know that my understanding Spanish is getting much better! The homework she assigns is also much more beneficial - less like busy work and it makes more of an impression. And as frustrated as I get with it, I do like it. Spanish is a beautiful language.
