Finding Christ in Christmas

As Christmas approaches how do you plan to keep Christ in your heart during the holidays?

I think in general this is something I need to do much more of. Today in church I had a thought that really struck me.

In relief society we were talking about how we come to know god and I thought about how when there is a friend that you used to be close to and then didn't keep up the friendship and see them again it seems a bit awkward and the questions are shallow because you aren't there for the daily worries and happiness of their life. In short, even though you are asking the questions like 'how are you?' you don't really know how they are doing.

It's the same with coming to know the savior. If he isn't a part of your daily life then you just know the facts about him - not actually him or what he would want you to do. It was a thought I was grateful for because I can relate to it well and I can definitely apply it to myself more. I have been less than satisfactory in my scripture reading lately and so this Christmas season and longer I plan on learning more about Jesus Christ by making sure he is a part of my everyday life.
