Surprise!
We get an hour to email today! Pageant has been SO good! It's
exhausting, but I feel like I can endure it better this year, although I
still have another week of it, so we'll see How I feel in a few days.
Carl came to pageant and he brought his sister! They liked it and she
said she wanted us to come visit her and bring her a book of Mormon. He
has also not drunk any coffee since we taught Word of Wisdom, which he
said would be the hardest thing, and only had one beer. We were really
proud of him. Last night our lesson with him was great. He still isn't
sure about 'joining our church' because he loves his church and that he
is involved there, but he knows it is true and he said he wanted to be
baptized by the proper authority. He also knows the Book of Mormon is
true and still loves the experience he had in the grove. Last night he
told us that he has just felt so happy since we started meeting with
him, and at peace with life. He even recognized that he hasn't sworn
once since he had his experience in the grove, and doesn't get angry. He
is feeling his heart change a lot.
Jay, our new investigator of last week, also came to pageant, but we
since have turned him over to the Elders. We haven't heard anything
since, but are praying that he will continue to investigate and make the
change to the other ward okay. It's been kind of a stressful transition
for some reason.
A wonderful man in our ward who was baptized a year and a half ago
went through the temple this week, so we got to go with him. President
Christianson was his escort, and it was so great. Brother Hanline just
looked so happy whenever I saw him. He had dealt with a lot of hardship
before hand, so it was great to see him get there and feel so peaceful.
Remember Casey who came to pageant last year and was baptized in
October? Saturday was her year anniversary of meeting us at the Joseph
Smith farm and she came to pageant and found me. It was great talking to
her and hearing about her conversion! She also met Carl, and that was
neat because she told him about how hard giving up coffee was for her,
but that she did it!
It's a huge blessing to stay in our apartment during pageant instead
of moving to a different area, because we've been able to see some of
our investigators even during pageant who really needed it. miracle.
I love you all!
Sister A
