It is getting lighter and this time of year always makes me feel happy. And strangely in love. I am in love with nature!
Why am I so twitterpated about this? Because I went for a walk yesterday.
I used to go on walks all the time last year. Walks always bring perspective back and make you grateful, but this was my first one in a long time. I mean, I walk everyday to the metro but there is something different about when you have to walk somewhere as opposed to when you can walk anywhere. And usually I listen to music when I walk to the metro but yesterday I didn't. I just walked and flirted with the sun and kicked the snow (which is melting quickly) and made up poems (it's been far too long!) and looked at the lovely houses and eventually ran into a park and smelled the trees. Sigh, I'm in love. How romantic! It was glorious.
Dear sunshine and tree's and cute children playing in the yards and melting snow and setting sun,
you are so good to me! Thanks for being in my life.
Sincerely,
me
The visit...
I reunited with an old friend today.
One that always fills me with delight .
We wandered up the oldened town-
to me, each street a brand new site.
My friend has known this place for years,
but she humored my wanderings anyway.
She's silently there but her presence inspires,
poetry flirts through my head...then away.
We saunter by a baptist sign:
'love is happiness' it reads.
Cars speed by but my insides noticed.
Wouldn't that be great if that were the worlds creed?
Finally time comes to say goodbye.
Into the house, friend cannot be.
I sadly wave goodbye to my lovely sunshine.
She beams- her rays hug farewell to me.
You are so cute! I love that we are desk chair neighbors! We should go on a walk today at lunch. That would be nice.
