Farewell Pittsford

I am being transferred. I'm pretty sad about this, haha It feels like I am leaving home again, but I am excited to see where I will go and what it will be like. We found out Wednesday, because Sister Gonzalez got the call telling her she will be training! I'm excited for her, but I may possibly be jealous of her next companion...she gets the best companion around! It is strange to be leaving Pittsford. I've been here my whole mission and love the investigators and the ward so much. The past two transfers have been incredibly packed full of miracles. I got to see Pittsford come alive in missionary work, just as Elder Costa promised us it could and I am very very grateful for that. I'm gald I got to be here for as long as I was.

In other news our week was already really great! We have had 2 area days already and were able to teach a lot. We also decided to rake tract, which involves carrying around rakes and cleaning up the massive amounts of leaves in people's yards. It was really fun! In New York they have this magical thing called, well I'm not sure what it is called, but it is like a garbage truck with a giant hose vacuum. It comes through and people just rake their leaves into the curb and it sucks them all up! Unfortunately it is also very loud which made it not possible for us to teach the people that were walking behind it vacuuming up the leaves.

We taught Liz the law of chastity this week, which unfortunately kind of turned into a man-hater rant that we couldn't stop. We tried to convince her that there really are some good guys out there, marriage is a good thing, and that god loves everyone including males. It definitley didn't go how we were hoping, but at least she will certainly be keeping the law of chastity. She also didn't understand why homosexuality and abortion wasn't of God, so we will be addressing that tonight. When we meet with her tonight we will probably be moving her baptismal date back a week later , because she hasn't made it to Relief Society yet and we feel like she needs to before getting baptized. But she is still doing great and we are excited to teach her tonight!  I will really miss teaching her. She is amazing.

Yesterday we found a new investigator! The first in 9 weeks! It was a fun day. We were able to go to Honeyoye Falls and tract, which is far from where we live and we usually don't have the miles, but lately we have felt prompted to go there. There were a lot of people we were able to talk to. We talked to a man- a born again Christian - who loves to bible bash. He also was kind of obsessed that I was from Ireland. Which, surprise, I'm not. But he was conviced I had an irish accent and kept pointing it out. haha. weird.

Life is good. The church is true. The Book of Mormon is amazing. I love you all and hope you are safe and happy!
love,
Sister L

p.s. my next preparation day is this monday, and I'm not sure when my normal preparation day will be after that
