What a wonderful week! It really was so fun! And I know you are
probably confused about the subject so I will just start with the most
awkward / funny moment of the week, which was Sister Park accidently
kissing our investigator Linda on the neck as she was giving her a hug
goodbye. I didn't really notice it until we were walking outside and
sister park just stopped and said, 'Oh dear! Something awkward!" Linda
usually gives us a kiss on the cheek when we leave, and she didn't
this time, so Sister Park thought it was her turn. Well... she
apparently missed a little, because Linda has a small face and planted
it on her neck instead. I laughed so hard my body hurt. I'm still
laughing about it.
But better news on Linda... She came to church! Wow! This is an
incredible miracle. She has been having missionaries teach her for
years and has never come to church. This week Sister Park and I were
going to stop going over there frequently and decided to go one more
time. We took a member of the ward that has come to see her with us
before, and I got to witness one of the greatest miracles I've seen on
my mission. Usually when we mention church to linda she starts talking
about her kidney stones and her pain and how she can't go to church.
Once, while praying with Linda, I prayed that she would come to church
and she actually snorted during the prayer when I said that. That
shows just how thrilled she was about church. This time as we were
teaching her the woman in our ward just started saying, "linda, you
have to come to church. It's time. The Lord wants you to come to
church. You're coming to church." She said it over and over again and
the spirit was so strong! We asked Linda if she would come walk around
the church with us right now, so she could know what it was like. This
time she was willing to and we all drove over to the chapel. As she
was touring it she said, "I don't know what this feeling is. I don't
know what's wrong with me. I just want to cry, but I'm happy!" Yea! We
taught her that that is the spirit. It was so powerful, and the most
incredible thing was that she was happy! She was smiling! I've never
seen that before! And she did come on Sunday, and felt the spirit. My
heart was so happy. I thought it might pop. We were able to see Linda
yesterday as well, and she was still more happy than normal, and
emotionally more stable than I've ever seen her. The Lord can heal and
change people in so many ways. It was a huge testimony strengthener to
see that.
Valentines day was also really fun! We had made valentines for our
less actives, investigators and former investigators and so we got to
visit a lot of people. In our dinner time we also made secret dinner
for the Senior couple that lives in our house, and they really loved
it. She cried. That was fun :)
And that was our great week! We went to the temple today {so
wonderful} with our district, and it's not open on Monday's , so we
moved our preparation day to today, which is why you are now getting
this letter. I love you and hope your presidents day weekend was a fun
one.
love,
Sister A
