parks and picnic‏

CONGRATULATIONS on baby Russell! Thanks for the news and picture. Wow, big baby. Glad to know everyone is healthy. yea! Knowing I had a nephew arriving this week actually helped start a lot of conversations about the gospel lately, mostly because I could somehow relate to the pregnant people, and by people I mean women, that I saw. I'm so happy he is here!

This week was awesome!! I LOVE sister Larsen. She is so fun, and also a good missionary with lots of energy. We've been able to teach a lot this week, which has been so good. Two full area days! Our biggest miracle came yesterday. We had planned to visit a former investigator named Angela later that day who had dropped the sisters a year ago. We were walking past a park on our way to a less active families house and sister Larsen walked over to one of the ladies who started waving and asked if we were missionaries. We realized it was the Angie we had been planning on seeing! She said she had actually started reading the Book of Mormon again earlier that week and asked if she could call us with questions! So we got her information as well and will stop by later. Wow!

We also found a really great service opportunity we are excited about next to our apartment that is an art school for those with mental handicapps 21 and older. It was perfect, because we just talked to this 16 year old kid about pageant as he was doing yardwork outside of it and we asked him about the place and he said his aunt owned it, so when we asked she said we could come in anytime - we didn't have to certify first or have a specific schedule, which is perfect since we are unable to do so with the sites. We were both really happy!

We had a ward strawberry social picnic that Doug came too, and was a lot of fun although every single conversation Sister Larsen and I were involved in was somehow very awkward haha. {including but not limited to, being yelled at about someone not wanting to eat more shortcake, a discussion by our investigator and how it's not fair how I can eat a ton and not be fat, Our investigator getting really mad one of the Elders for unknown reason, being mooned various times, and many more unexplainably funny moments} And we are considering having the Elders teach our investigator, because some things came out at that social that made us wonder if he is more interested in the message, or the fact that we are 22 year old woman. :( That was disappointing. Church was also a little disappointing as we had a lot of people promise they would be there and not a single showed, and one of the less active families who has been doing so well lately by coming every week wasn't there for the second week in a row. But next week we will work even harder to get them there. I really really love this area!! The ward and those we visit are so great! We have a church tour tonight with Eddy and Pamela, which will hopefully help them get to church next week.

Thanks for the good news!

The tale of these photos
1. Sister Larsen and I before we even knew we would be companions at the science museum. It looks like she really loves my, but she said she only put her hand there so she wouldn't fall over...

2. A polynesian sandwhich at the science museum a few preparation days ago! This is Sister Fetuli {my compi from Tonga} and Sister Correia from Hawaii. I love them.

3. All of our district last transfer except for Elder Hallem {from Rexburg} because he is a sister hater and refused to be in the picture. :)

4. For the 75 anniversary of pageant they are displaying some of the past pageant costumes they used. This is one of them before they set it up upstairs. They are pretty cool.

enjoy! hopefully I will get some of the families we visit for next time!
