This was a miraculous week. All week Sister Larsen and I just kept saying 'The lord is so good to us!" and it is true. Carl, our investigator getting baptized on August 4 is doing awesome and he came to church this week!! He loves god and wants to follow him. The highlight was taking him to the Smith Farm on Thursday. We went through the houses and that was nice, but I just wondered how we were going to have him understand that when he is baptized he is being baptized INTO Christ's church, because everyone he met he kept saying 'I'm a Methodist, and I plan on dying a Methodist, but I've really enjoyed learning from these girls.'
As we walked into the grove I asked Karl if he would pray with us there and ask to know if Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and if the Book of Mormon was true. We stopped and stood in a little circle and he prayed.
Then we sat there for a silent minute.
The spirit was very strong. Just as I was about to say something carl said, "You know what? I think that was a silent answer." It was amazing! As we continued walking through he kept saying how great he felt.
"I feel like running, and I'm not even a runner!"
It was an incredible day.
We
also found 2 new investigators this week and 1 came to church! He is
awesome. He is 30 and said he has been praying about a new direction to
take in life. He rode up on his motorcycle when we were teaching a man
and so we taught him a brief 2 minute lesson and asked if we could stop
by his house. He has good desires. I'm not sure how he felt about
church, because we had a strange talk, but we will get to see him
tonight. Unfortunately we found out he isn't in our ward, so we are
transitiong him to other missionaries tonight. But it is a miracle his
heart was open.
4th of July was fun. We painted a very high ceiling for
a member in the ward who had surgery. It was fun, but I'm not sure i
have ever sweat so much and I thought my neck might fall off. Haha they
made fun of me for managing to drip paint all over my hair and face too.
Then I accidentally hit the dad in the butt with the paint roller while
he was on a ladder and i discovered I'm not the best painter, so it may
not really have been considered service at all. I may have made it worse
:)
Sister Larsen has forgotten how to pray. This was her
prayer in the car the other day "... and please bless my peaches. Thank
you. Bye." And then she realized what she did. Fortunately she has since
remembered how to pray, so I guess we won't be reteaching her how to
pray along with our investigators. haha. I love her.
We are excited for some Happy pageanting!!!!!!!!! We have 6 sisters
coming to stay and we are working at Book of Mormon Publication Site and
The Hill. I love you all! have a great week!love,
Sister L
