My friend Ella

Meet Ella. She's spunky, smart, sweet and witty. I first learned about her when I was in sixth grade. It was a random meeting - I saw her in my middle school library on the cover of a book that I had always thought looked stupid, but decided to try out and we've been friends ever since. I learned my lesson: never judge a book by its cover.Since then I have read this book so much that my copy that I bought at 12 is loosing it's binding. Yes, I like it that much.

Okay, so Ella and I aren't really friends since she is a fictional character, but I turn to her whenever I am bored and don't have another book, or just want to read a cute happy little read. Ella is the main character in the book "Ella Enchanted" by Gail Carson Levine. (And yes they made a very sorry excuse for a movie out of this that shares very little in common with the book) I highly recommend this book to any girl age 10 and up. You'll laugh. You'll smile. You'll cry. (The crying is optional. Don't let that hold you back). And you will have a better appreciation for Cinderella, which is clearly an important step in any girls life...
