Hallo from Germany! In their usual fashion everything flew by the past few months and suddenly I'm in a new country for a new adventure!
I made the decision to be a nanny in about a day-some things just feel right ya know?
Lovely german countryside through my train window. |
Saturday morning I flew out from salt lake - a big thanks to mom elaine and kristi for dropping me off. Apparently in lovell household culture it is good luck for your mom and sister to match clothes. I contribute my safe flight To that.

-My old neighbor from Rexburg was on the Seattle flight with me. Small world.
- I was majorly lost in the Seattle airport mostly because they didn't give me my connecting flight ticket in salt lake and I was stuck in this endless world if Alaskan airlines flights. But eventually a kind man sitting behind a desk helped me out. Thank goodness for desk sitting people.
-I ate at Ivars. A healthy dose of fatty American food to tie me over for two months. Yum.
- Had this crazy urge to jump out of the plane as we were flying over what I assume to be ungoverned Canada because no sane person would live this far north. Hello Canada!
- In a plane full of German speaking people, I sat next to an American. He is a magician - like a real life witchcraft one. But he was so fun to talk to. One of the best parts of traveling is meeting people who think opposite of you in pretty much every sense. He loves studying fungus and wants to start a vinyl t-shirt business with marijuana art on it in Colorado but currently he's been doing magic tours for a few years. Super interesting.
- An awesome awkward moment with above said person when I was falling asleep and he said "You're really beautiful. You have a beautiful spirit. The guy in me just wants to cuddle with you. " to which I just kind of awkwardly laughed and tried to go back to sleep.
- Remembering the great inconvenience that a small bladder is on a 10 hour flight for anyone around me.
-finally getting to Germany after a few stressed lost moments, one angry train worker, 12 hours in a plane, 5 in an airport and five on a train. Hearing Ana call my name at the Bahnhof was a great moment!
So! Soon there will be more to come on my visit to Berlin and my upcoming adventures in deutschland!
German trains are a very beautiful thing. I'm very obsessed with them now and their design though I didn't take a picture to do it justice. |
That comment is super awkward! Thanks for sharing about your adventures!
